Let AI summarize the post
Manual payment reconciliation for offline payments is one of the biggest time sinks in everyday Shopify work. Every bank transfer has to be checked, every order manually updated - this delays fulfillment, ties up resources, and leads to unnecessary errors.
An automated payment reconciliation speeds up processes for merchants and customers alike. That is exactly why we developed Cleero - with a pricing model that makes automation accessible to every Shopify store.
Flat-rate or flexible pricing plan? How Shopify merchants choose correctly
Choosing the right pricing plan for automatic payment reconciliation in Shopify depends on two key factors: your monthly order volume and the average order value.
Depending on the combination, either a flexible commission-based plan or a flat fixed price can be significantly cheaper.
In this article, we show you when which pricing plan is worthwhile - including concrete calculation examples.
Which factors influence the optimal pricing plan?
These points are especially relevant for the decision:
Number of orders reconciled monthly
Average order value
Fluctuations in order volume (e.g. seasonality)
Desire for predictable costs
Especially with offline payments such as prepayment or bank transfer, payment reconciliation can quickly become a cost and time factor - making a suitable pricing model all the more important.
Flexible plan: When is the commission basis cheaper?
In the flexible model, you pay a 0.75% commission per reconciled order. This model is especially attractive for low order values or small order volumes.
Up to the following number of orders per month, the flexible plan is cheaper than a flat-rate tariff:
Avg. €200 order value → up to 20 orders
Avg. €100 order value → up to 40 orders
Avg. €50 order value → up to 80 orders
Avg. €20 order value → up to 200 orders
The lower the average order value, the more orders you can process cost-efficiently with the flexible plan.
Calculation example: Why flat rates pay off for high amounts
Suppose your store has an average order value of €200 and 100 reconciled orders per month.
In the flexible model, this would incur €150 in fees (0.75% per order). A flat-rate plan, however, already covers the same usage for $30 per month.
Overview of the pricing plan features
Flexible plan (commission basis)
Advantages
You only pay when you actually use payment reconciliation
Ideal for fluctuating order volumes (e.g. seasonal or promotional business)
Very affordable for low order values and small volumes
Disadvantages
Costs increase with revenue and order volume
Monthly expenses are harder to plan
Flat-rate plan (fixed price)
Advantages
Fixed, predictable monthly costs
Ideal for growing or established Shopify stores
No increase in cost with higher order volumes
Disadvantages
The full amount applies even with low usage
Conclusion: Which pricing plan is right for your Shopify store?
Low order values as well as small or fluctuating order volumes point to a flexible commission-based plan. High order values and a constant or growing order volume make a flat fixed price more economical.

Questions about Cleero's pricing plans
Can I test Cleero before I have to choose a plan?
Yes, you have 10 free reconciliations available when you first install Cleero.
Can I change the plan at any time?
Yes. Changing and cancelling your plan is possible at any time. You will then only be charged for the period up to cancellation.
Is there a minimum term?
No. Cleero does not require a minimum term. You can cancel at any time.
What happens if I exceed the quota of my flat-rate plan?
So that Cleero does not suddenly stop marking paid orders as paid, we charge a small fee per reconciliation above the quota. This fee is different for each pricing plan.
What exactly is meant by a reconciliation?
A reconciliation is counted when Cleero was able to successfully match a payment from your bank account with an order from your store.
